The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that no date has been set for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In addition, the commission clarified that there is currently no schedule for the transfer or replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
This update was made public by INEC’s Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi, via the commission’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday. Oyekanmi urged the public to disregard widely circulated but fake and anonymous messages claiming that the CVR would resume on May 27.
He emphasized that any official information regarding the resumption of voter registration or related services will be communicated through INEC’s verified platforms at the appropriate time.
