Amid rising global crude oil prices, Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has reaffirmed its commitment to price stability for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, ensuring relief for Nigerian consumers.

In a statement signed by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the company noted that its consistent reduction in petrol prices underscores its dedication to economic support, affordability, and national development.

“Our decision to maintain stability in PMS pricing reflects our unwavering commitment to the Nigerian economy and to cushioning the burden on consumers,” the statement read.

The company emphasized that its operations align with the Federal Government’s Nigeria First policy, which encourages the use of locally produced goods and services. By refining petroleum products domestically, Dangote aims to bolster energy security, conserve foreign exchange, and promote economic resilience.

The statement further credited President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Naira-for-Crude Initiative for enabling local refining and supporting Dangote’s efforts to reduce fuel prices sustainably.

“We are immensely grateful to President Tinubu for making this possible. These initiatives have empowered us to deliver affordable, high-quality petroleum products to Nigerians,” it said.

The company also reiterated its commitment to operational excellence, assuring stakeholders—consumers, partners, and government—of its continuous focus on affordability, quality, and national interest.

Meanwhile, the refinery has received 146,000 metric tonnes of crude oil via the vessel Hercules, with an additional 125,000 metric tonnes expected from Sienna—both intended for local refining as the plant ramps up full-scale production.
