The Federal Capital Territory (FCT)Police Command is yet to unravel the motive behind the assassination attempt on the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)for the forthcoming Anambra State election, Mr.Jude Ezenwafor, the Command’s spokesperson,Superintendent of Police (SP),Josephine Adeh has declared.
Speaking with our reporter over the phone yesterday,she appealed to anyone with useful information to assist the police in its ongoing investigation into the matter.
According to her,while investigation was in top gear,it was yet to touch on the true position and circumstances surrounding the incident and called on persons with relevant information to avail the police.
“We seek the cooperation of the general public in our investigation to get to the root of the matter so that justice will be served,” she said.
It would be recalled that Ezenwafor survived an assassination attempt on his life in Abuja on Friday night when gunmen suspected to be assassins shot him.
Ezenwafor was subsequently admitted in an undisclosed private hospital in the nation’s capital for medical treatment.
