The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has intercepted a truck suspected of transporting stolen street light poles in Abuja.
The incident occurred on Tuesday,August 5,2025, when operatives of the FCT Command’s Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) Crack Team flagged down the vehicle, prompting the driver and a passenger to attempt escape.
FCT NSCDC spokesperson, Olusola Odumosu disclosed that the truck was heading to Kano before it was intercepted.
The vehicle was towed to the command headquarters for investigation.
The Commandant has directed the Intelligence and Investigations unit to trace the origin and ownership of the suspected vandalized items.
He condemned the act, warning that anyone found guilty will be prosecuted.
Odumosu also cautioned vandals to desist, adding that the NSCDC remains committed to safeguarding national assets.
