The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has launched an application, AIITIS system and movSmart to combat one chance cases in the Federal Capital City (FCC).

Unveiling the app at the weekend, mandate secretary FCT Transportation Secretariat, Elechi Chinedum, said the initiative will provide solutions to the frequent cases of unsafe transportation among commuters in the nation’s capital.

Chinedum called on licensed commercial transport operators in the territory to key into the new initiative to ensure their safety and the safety of their passengers.

On his part, the chairman of FCT Licensed Transport Operators, Dr Abubakar Sadeeq, noted that the AIITIS system represents not just a leap into smart mobility, but also a strong message that security, accountability, and efficiency in our transport system are non-negotiable.

Sadeeq stated that at a time when insecurity continues to pose serious challenges to citizens—especially commuters—the technology-driven initiative could not have come at a more critical moment.

He pointed out that the system would not only enhance the confidence of passengers in the FCT, but also protect the integrity of transportation as a profession.

Sadeeq urged all licensed commercial drivers and operators in the FCT to fully key into the initiative, and to embrace the innovation wholeheartedly.

The chairman urged them to continue to support the government’s efforts to make Abuja’s transportation system safer, smarter, and more responsive to the needs of the people.

He said, “The AIITIS system represents not just a leap into smart mobility, but also a strong message that security, accountability, and efficiency in our transport system are non-negotiable.

“MovSmart Abuja is not just another app—it is a call to duty. It is a call for us to align with the new standard of safety, transparency, and innovation.

“This system will not only enhance the confidence of our passengers, but it will also protect the integrity of our profession”,he added.
