The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has warned against cyberbullying and acts of jungle justice in the city.

Rather, it advised that social media should be used to uplift and inspire people instead of destroying them.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer,Superintendent of Police (SP) Josephine Adeh, gave the advice on Monday, August 11,2025, via a telephone chat with our reporter in reaction to a viral video of a woman being tied with a goat she was alleged to have stolen with the intention of disgracing her.

According to her, cyberbullying or negative publicity could drive victims into depression, trigger mental breakdown, and, in severe cases, lead to societal harm.

”With recent happenings and cases on my desk, I wish to remind everyone that health is not merely the absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Social media bullying or negative publicity against an individual can drive the victims into depression, trigger.
