The Directorate of Road Traffic Services(DRTS),popularly known as Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) has released alternative routes in Abuja,particularly along the Jabi-Airport Road during peak hours from September 23 – 25,2025 to avoid being held in traffic during the call to bar activities.
In a statement, it advised motorists using the outbound Jabi Road to use the Herbert Macaulay Road,linking Berger Roundabout and connecting to City Gate to avoid being held in traffic.
For inbound motorists to the City Centre,it urged them to
avoid Jabi-Airport road, approaching Dantata bridge.
It urged them to connect to Galadimawa – Games village – Area One; then Nnamdi Azikwe Expressway and other locations.
Also, on Dantata Bridge to avoid Jabi-Airport Road, maintain straight course to the City Gate – Nnamdi Azikwe Expressway and linking Berger Roundabout to Herbert Macaulay, thereby completely avoiding NJI, FMC Junction, Idu Railway Junction.
The organisation said traffic personnel would, however,be deployed to manage the expected traffic bottlenecks.
