The Nyior family of Damagaza,Gaduwa, in the Lokogoma area of Abuja
has accused officers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command of allegedly abducting their female member,Ms. Monica Ahemen Nyior,a linguistic student of the Nasarawa State University,Keffi(NSUK).
A brother of the abducted student,Mr. Terungwa Nyior told our reporter in Abuja on Thursday,November 6,2025, that the abduction took place the previous day( Wednesday, November 5, 2025)at Damagaza Gaduwa in the Lokogoma area of the nation’s capital.
According to him, before her sudden disappearance, she had received a strange call asking for the address of her shop to patronise her as she combines hair styling with her studies.
“She provided the address and suddenly, some people appeared dressed in police uniform and whisked her away.As I talk to you now, her whereabouts have remained unknown as no one has contacted the family while her phone number rings without any response ” he said.
The family spokesman said a visit to the nearest police station- Damagaza Police Division, was abortive as there was no record of his sister’s arrest at the station but that the officers at the station asked him to wait for 24 hours before he could return to make a formal complaint about the missing sister.
“Before her sudden disappearance, she sent a message to me via her phone to say that she had been arrested by the police but she did not know her offence or where she was being taken to”,he added.
Efforts to get the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh to speak on the incident proved abortive as calls and sms sent to her phone were not responded to, at the time of filing this report.
