The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has foiled an armed robbery operation and arrested a suspect in the Karu Site area of Abuja.
The FCT Police Command’s spokesperson,Superintendent of Police (SP) Josephine Adeh who announced this in a statement on Monday, December 29, 2025,said the blocking of the robbery operation and arrest were carried out on Saturday,December 27,2025, at about 3:45 a.m. following a distress call through the command’s emergency number.
She said the caller had reported an ongoing armed robbery operation at a residence in Karu Site,prompting a police response team from Karu Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO),to swiftly move to the scene.
The statement reads in part:
“Upon sighting the police team, the suspects opened fire, and the police officers responded professionally, subdued, and arrested one of the suspects, while two other accomplices fled the scene.
“Exhibits recovered during the operation include two mobile phones, one locally fabricated firearm, four live cartridges, two knives, one cutlass, and one torchlight.”
The spokesperson said the suspect was currently receiving medical attention, while investigations were ongoing to apprehend his fleeing accomplices.
She said the FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Miller Dantawaye, commended the officers for their prompt response and professionalism.
Adeh added that the CP has enjoined residents to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the command through its emergency lines.
