The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the disruption of electricity supply lasting over two weeks in parts of Abuja.

TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, disclosed this in a statement on Monday,October 27,2025.

She said the outage, scheduled from Tuesday, October 28,2025, to Sunday, November 16,2025, is due to road construction activities in the Federal Capital Territory.

The statement explained that the 132-kilovolt Gwagwalada–Kukwaba–Apo double-circuit transmission line would be without power supply during the period. Consequently, bulk electricity supply will be temporarily unavailable in the Apo, Lokogoma, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, and Idu Industrial Layout areas within the construction period.

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria,(TCN), wishes to inform the public that there will be power outages in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory , as the Federal Capital Development Authority(FCDA) will commence road construction works along the Kuje axis from Tuesday, October 28, 2025 to Sunday, November 16,2025. The construction work will affect the 132 kV Gwagwalada-Kukwaba-Apo double-circuit transmission line.

“In view of this, TCN will undertake a planned load management operation that will involve temporary interruption of power within the working hours for the road construction to ensure the safety of all stakeholders.

“The planned outage will be executed in three phases to enhance seamless operations.

“The first phase is scheduled to commence from Tuesday, October 28, to Sunday, November2,2025, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 pm daily.

“The second phase will take place from Thursday, November 6, to Sunday, November9, 2025 between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm daily, while the third phase will take effect from Wednesday, November 12 to Sunday, November 16, 2025 between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm daily.

“However, TCN assures that during this period, the following areas within the FCT, namely Apo, Lokogoma, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, and Idu Industrial Layout, will experience temporary power interruption, while normal power supply will be restored to the affected areas at the end of each day’s work period,” TCN stated.
