Detectives from the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Police Command have commenced investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the alleged suicide of a 30-year-old man identified as Ik Ojo in the Kagini–Dei-Dei area of Abuja.

The FCT Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh,told our reporter over the phone that detectives from the Dei-Dei Division on the orders of the FCT Police Commissioner, Ajao Adewale,have commenced a full scale investigation into the matter

The victim’s body was found dangling on the ceiling in his room,prompting his naighbours to question the circumstances of his death, alleging a foul play.

Adeh said as soon as the police received information on the incident,detectives from the Dei-Dei Division moved in and took the corpse to the Kubwa General Hospital for autopsy and further investigation.

“The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on August 5, 2025 received a distress call reporting the suspected suicide of one Ik Ojo (male, 30) who was found hanging in his residence at Kagini, Dei-Dei area of the FCT.

“Promptly, police operatives from Dei-Dei Division visited the scene and evacuated the body to the Kubwa General Hospital for autopsy,” she added.

The spokesperson said the detectives have been ordered by the FCT Commissioner of Police,Ajao Adewale, to get to the root of the matter while further details would be communicated as investigation progresses.
