The Commissioner of Police of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Command, Miller Dantawaye, has conducted a comprehensive training session on weapon handling and safety for the first batch of Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the territory.
The session, held on November25,2025, at the Nigeria Police Force(NPF) Training Camp in Dei-Dei, Abuja,is part of a continuous capacity-building programme aimed at enhancing operational competence and improving tactical preparedness among senior officers.
A press statement by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the initiative reinforces ongoing efforts to promote professionalism, discipline, and strict adherence to global best practices in firearms management.
She said that during the lecture, Dantawaye urged officers to remain committed to accountable and effective policing, stressing the need for regular skill updates to meet the security demands of the FCT.
The statement reads, “in furtherance of his commitment to continuous training and capacity development within the Federal Capital Territory, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, on 25th November 2025, delivered a comprehensive lecture on weapon handling and safety to the first batch of Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) under the Command.
“The training session, held at the Nigeria Police Force Training Camp, Dei-Dei, is part of an ongoing series designed to strengthen operational competence, enhance tactical readiness, and promote strict adherence to global best practices in firearms management.
“CP Dantawaye emphasised the importance of professionalism, discipline, and accountability in weapon handling, urging officers to continually update their knowledge and uphold the highest standards of policing across the FCT”.
