The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command Commissioner, Miller Dantawaye, has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) in charge of Gwarimpa Division, SP Babale Galadima, to the Command Headquarters to face administrative disciplinary proceedings.
The action follows allegations of professional misconduct raised by members of the public against the erstwhile DPO.
Though details of the professional misconduct were not disclosed, the former DPO is immediately replaced with Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Nasir Gusau.
A press statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, said the commissioner’s action is in line with his earlier directive to all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and their subordinates to remain professional, courteous, and law-abiding in the discharge of their duties.
Reiterating that any act of misconduct, unprofessionalism, or abuse of office will not be tolerated and will attract appropriate sanctions, the statement disclosed that the CP had approved the posting of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Nasir Gusau as the former DPO’s replacement with immediate effect.
”The CP charged the new DPO to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ensure respect for human rights, maintain civility in engagements with the public, and align fully with the Command’s strategic operational goals”,the statement quoted the CP as warning.
Dantawaye appealed to residents of Gwarimpa and its environs to cooperate with the new DPO and continue to support the police in their collective effort to maintain peace, law, and public safety within the area.
