The Inspector General of Police(IGP),Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has maintained that intelligence gathering remains the bedrock of effective policing in the 21st century.

He stressed that under his watch, the Force was committed to harnessing technology, innovation and expertise to combat emerging threats.

Egbetokun, who stated this during an inspection of state -of-the art intelligence installations at the Idu Community in Abuja on Thursday, August 21,2025,said intelligence-led policing was crucial to internal security management.

The Force Spokesman, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,who made this known in press statement said the visit was in line with the strategic engagements of the Nigeria Police Force with indigenous security experts, particularly EIB STRATOC, a homegrown security solutions provider, in pursuit of stronger collaboration towards enhancing national security architecture.

The statement quoted the IGP of assuring that the installations would not only strengthen the Force’s operational capabilities but also deepen community trust and synergy with critical stakeholders in the security sector.

‎The Inspector-General reiterated his commitment to improved cutting-edge technology for policing Nigeria.

He commended the expertise of EIB STRATOC and called on other security experts and Nigerians to collaborate with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies for improved technology-driven intelligence gathering for a more effective internal and national security architecture.

‎Top brass of the police force who accompanied the IGP on the visit include DIG Ben Nebeolisa Okolo, fdc (Force Intelligence Department), DIG Adebowale Williams, fdc (ICT), AIG Adeleke Taiwo (Depratment of Operations), and CP Felix Obe (Federal Operations) among others.
