The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede has disclosed
that at least 17 persons, including JAMB officials, are facing prosecution by law enforcement agencies over various infractions related to the mobilisation of graduates for national service.

The JAMB Registrar disclosed this while addressing graduates at the 2025 Batch ‘C’ pre-mobilisation workshop of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) held in Abuja on Monday,November 3,2025.

Oloyede also stated that 15,000 candidates were under prosecution for allegedly forging their admission letters to enable them qualified for the national youth service.

“One day, I ran to your predecessor (referring to DG of the NYSC) because I could not believe that 15,000 candidates forged admission letters.

“As I speak with you, some deputy registrars are being tried by the ICPC. Some deputy vice – chancellors, not less than 17, including four JAMB staff members, are in prison custody. We took them to the ICPC. Those who want to go to jail should do so knowingly, not by accident,” the Registrar stated.

He added: “I want to advice you: follow the rules and you will have less problems. I suggest you follow the right path and you will see that most of the problems that are self-created by you will be eliminated.”

He urged participants at the workshop to avoid data manipulation, adding that those being prosecuted are facing charges for offences concerning admission, graduation, and mobilisation for national service.

The Registrar advised student affairs officers to always ensure the integrity of the process by getting their prospective corps member data directly from JAMB.

Earlier, Olakunle Nafiu, the NYSC DG, had restated the scheme’s zero tolerance for any act of fraud in the mobilisation process.

The DG identified data manipulation, identity theft, inconsistent data from corps-producing institutions, and the proliferation of unauthorised higher institutions as key challenges in the mobilisation process.

“NYSC will continue to apply sanctions wherever such unethical practices are discovered,” he said.

“We must be conscious of the fact that the strength of our mobilisation system will depend not only on technology, but also on ethics, discipline, and professionalism of those who handle the technology.

“Let us continue to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and zero tolerance for compromise.

“Every Nigerian graduate who wears the NYSC uniform must be genuinely qualified and properly verified,” he stated.
