The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will hold its annual 10-kilometre walk/jog exercise in Abuja on Saturday, October 18,2025,beginning from 6 in the morning.

The exercise is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the physical fitness, health, and operational readiness of personnel of the force.

A statement on Friday October 17, 2025, by the Director of Public Relations and Information,Ehimen Ejodame,announcing the exercise noted that it is an integral component of the force’s commitment to maintaining peak physical condition among its officers and airmen, in line with global military standards.

The statement explained that the walk/jog event, scheduled to end by 8:00 a.m. on the same date,will take place along the service lane between Karu Bridge and Mogadishu Cantonment Bridge on the Abuja–Nyanya–Keffi expressway.

“To facilitate the exercise, the affected section of the road will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic during the two-hour window,” the statement added

It assured that adequate security and traffic management measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of participants and residents.

While expressing appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation and understanding,it said normal traffic flow would resume immediately after the exercise.

The statement further noted that the initiative underscores the force’s dedication to the well-being and effectiveness of its personnel in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities.

“Such periodic fitness activities are vital for maintaining the agility, endurance, and alertness required for operational excellence, especially as the Air Force continues to support national security operations across the country,” it maintained.
