The new Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command,Miller Dantawaye, has reeled out the achievements of the command since he assumed duties.
Addressing newsmen recently, he announced that the command arrested multiple suspects for alleged armed robbery, drug trafficking, and vehicle theft in the nation’s capital.
The Commissioner said the feat was achieved through a series of coordinated intelligence operations conducted by the command’s Scorpion Squads across Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mabushi Divisions between October 9 and 18, 2025 where the suspects were arrested for aforementioned crimes.
He gave the names of the kingpins as Manaseh Emmanuel, Dogora Ibrahim, and Ibrahim Idamusa, whom he said are members of a notorious armed robbery gang,led by Ibrahim Yakubu, a.k.a. “Ycome.”
Dantawaye confirmed that the three suspects were currently remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
The FCT Police boss revealed that another gang of four suspected robbers—Umar Abubakar, Iliyasu Ibrahim, Usman Ibrahim, and Alkasim Abubaka were arrested by the Life Camp Division for theft.
According to him, investigations revealed that the suspects are members of a ten-man armed robbery syndicate responsible for a series of violent robberies within the Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mpape suburbs of Abuja.
“Furthermore, Bello Mohammed Tambuwal was apprehended by the Mabushi Police Division for the theft of a new 2019 Toyota Corolla, while Paul Onogwu was intercepted with 15 bags of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa”,he added.
The police commissioner said exhibits recovered from the suspects included a cutlass, a sword, a jackknife, a Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep, a Toyota Corolla with registration number KRD 391JF, and 15 bags of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp.
He commended the officers and men involved in the successful operations, charging all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to intensify and sustain the onslaught against criminals across the FCT.
Dantawaye stressed the command’s continued onslaught to “hit hard on criminal elements until their hideouts are uncovered,” while vowing his administration’s determination to rid the territory of crimes and criminality.
