The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially granted an operational licence to the Leadership University, Kuje, Abuja, authorising the institution to commence full academic activities with immediate effect.
The Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, announced this on Friday,October 24,2025,at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Present at the announcement were the former FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, who serves as the Chairman/Board of Trustees (BOT) of the university, along with the Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Musa Yahaya Muhammad, and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammed Evuti.
Professor Ribadu noted that with the granting of the license, the commission has also approved 15 accredited courses across five faculties for the take-off of the university.
In his remarks, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar expressed appreciation to the NUC for granting approval for the commencement of academic activities.
He also thanked the NUC for its confidence in the university’s vision and assured the commission of the institution’s commitment to maintaining credibility, standards, and excellence.
