Unknown gun men on Monday invaded a community in the Asokoro Extention, kpaduma 3, Abuja, throwing the area in chaos as the invaders attacked houses and exchanged fire with local vigilantes.
The attack on Monday,September 15,2025, lasted for over a few hours and was described as one of the most terrifying incidents in the community with bullets and a grenade-like blast rocking the vicinity.
It was reported that the invaders who could possibly be considered kidnappers came from a nearby village called Kobi and began to wreak havoc,leaving some residents injured.
Two girls were reportedly raped and one of the vigilantes name — “Bako” was shot to death.
One of the residents who questioned why a particular house was targeted said: “residents had asked the landlord for security upgrades months earlier, but it was not acted upon.”
Police arrived later and calmed the situation, but residents have called for visible police patrols, better perimeter security and quicker police response.
At the time of filing the report,the FCT Police Command was yet to issue an official statement on the invasion.
